Stavang overnatting Madstunbua

Madstunbua

Madstunbua is probably the oldest rorbua in Stavang. She is from the farm Helmers from the end of the 18th century. The arch has been completely renovated and maintains a high, modern standard, but when you step over the threshold, history opens up for you like a treasure chest.

Markabua

As close to the sea as possible, the fisherman farmers built rowboats for their gards. From our own quay, you can get straight into the boat, now and then. This rorbua belonged to the farm Markane. The bow lasted  completely renovated in 2020 and maintained to a high, modern standard.

Once we came from the sea. The fish played along the boat line, the sun glistened on the surface of the water. Far in there, between towering sand dunes, the land rose, green under melting ice. The soil was warm and easy to cultivate. the sea was also a field, blue between the mountains.

Time is waiting for you, out here. Under the wide sky, over the shiny sea, there are tracks to follow. Ten thousand year old tracks along the road that will set new tracks.

In you.

Under the wide sky, a blue heart beats in eternal waves, softly against the green land in the west. Time is waiting for you, out here.

The Rorbuen in Stavang tell stories from several hundred years of bustling folk life by the quay at Flyten. Here, the fishing farmers had both rorbu, saltebu, notbu and sjark.
